I hope one day we can look back on this post and laugh at how the writers fooled us into thinking Bill truly became evil. But right now, all I can think is WHAT THE FUCK just happened? And, WHY?

Right, I was thinking the same thing. What happened??
One of my issues with this series right now is the way information is presented. So many times a character does something so far removed from his or her history and personality that it’s almost impossible to believe. I really like these ‘behind the scenes’ clips, but sometimes it feels like they are necessary to explain thing. I’d rather see believable character evolution within the episodes instead of being told what’s going on afterwards.
I don’t think there’s any doubt at this point that Bill has gone off the deep end, but the explanation given for his turnabout is threadbare at best. I’m sure it’s all wrapped up with the anti-religion theme this season, but I have no idea what this Billith transformation is supposed to prove. Guess we’ll find out next year. Le sigh.

Bill was so lost… without purpose… Salome was apparently very right in saying he was looking for something to believe in… he couldn’t believe in love anymore, damnit! Which made lilith an easy out for him to believe in and to fall hopelessly over the edge…
But what exactly is that blood going to do to him? Make of him? What the heck is he now, and is the real Bill all the way gone??
I guess the biggest question, is there any hope for us? Who have endured years of Bill (and sadly, SM) bashing?? I’m not going to give up hope for Bill until we see him drain Sookie to death and then laugh about it as the final curtain falls on TB… but this makes it a sad, sad journey

Shocking ending, which is what AB meant to do for his last episode.
Bill seems to have been transformed into the physical manifestation of Lillith. Did you notice that he seemed to not know where or what he was when he rose from the blood?
SM did a great job this episode, he really played Salome, and she was right, Lillith chose the strongest one, and also the smartest. Bill was one step ahead of her the whole time.

Yes as a huge SM fan I am excited for HIM, for his character, but so sad for my Bill, our Bill as we know him. It may take me 9 months to get over this. When he exploded in that goo, I seriously about shit my pants, and I had tears welling up in my eyes. I thought for a moment, are they going to end it like that with Bill dying? I think I would have had a stroke. When he came up from that goo I was relieved. I guess Billith it is. Bring it. I love SM and that is why I watch this show. I don’t need to defend Bill’s character to anyone. I love him and that is that. Billith or not. lol. Ok I think I am better now.

amyishot4bill, I’m right there with you. I love SM and his portrayal of Bill, all of his different sides. If it’s Billith in S6, I’m right there with him, lol
And I also have no need to defend Bill to the haters, they would hate Bill even if he was the hero at the end, so whatever they have to say is irrelevant.
I’m happy for SM, he was the best thing about this season, he did not have one bad scene this whole season. And we did get to see some good butt shots this season.

Bill had definitely been smokin’ hott this whole season… And outsmarting vampires older than him over and over again.
I agree whole heartedly that SM was phenomenal this whole season… and of course next year is going to be an even wilder ride…
But I agree with Sookie… Bill still isn’t evil! Whatever he’s turned into now might be another story… but he’ll still be hot, and powerful… and daresay, naked to start of S6

Im still in shock, why would they destroy Bill completely??? I started watching this show because of the magic Bill and Sookie generated, ive been missing that magic season after season, hoping it would come full circle. Looks like not!

Never in my wildest dreams thought that when TB started this season it would end this way. So I figure by the end of Season 6 we’ll have gone through another 360 degree change again! There is hope for those who want the old Bill back or at least minus Lilith.
Anything can happen in this show and it usually makes no sense at all so they’ll probably come up with some random way to de-Lilithfy Bill at some point. Either way Steve has owned this season and looked crazy, sexy hot doing it. What great acting no matter what they gave him:))
As for certain people hating on Bill I could give a rat’s ass what they think. It’s always been about Bill and SM for me and that’s not going to change now:))

Yay for the time delay between the US and NZ or else I might have watched this fucking travesty before scoping out whether it was safe beforehand. I feel super bad for you guys that were still watching with eternal optimism, I saw the writing on the wall episodes ago and bailed out.
I truly loved Bill as a character and object of lust. I wasn’t ever interested in seeing him ‘evil’ or whatever, I was just fine with the way he was, thankyouverymuch. I could put up with any old rubbish from the rest of the show as long as Bill was still there doing Bill stuff. Now I dunno who the fuck he is supposed to be anymore. My intelligence has been insulted and my fangirl loyalty and I am genuinely PISSED OFF. I also feel very sorry for Stephen Moyer and reading between the lines of recent interviews I don’t believe he’s happy with his storyline either.
I don’t imagine I will stop being mildly interested in what it going on in TB land, but they’ve lost me completely. At this stage the bloody books are better, and I will no longer be watching the show. The law of entertainment has kicked in- everything eventually sucks.

I can’t begin to imagine how they will be able to form a storyline for him next season because they’ve reduced him to a screeching Bilith monster. WTF. No where for it to go. Bill as evil Lilith zombie? Gooey sex? Bleh. No more Bill and Jess, no more bromance, no more Sookie and Bill. The HBO recap states: “Draining the vial, he is liquefied into a pool of blood—and then re-emerges as a primal and bloody version of himself.”
They’ve destroyed his humanity and I doubt anyone is running around with a cure. It’s seems a total capitulation by the writers to Eric-obsessed fans. I agree with CE. At this point, the books are better, and I never imagined I would think that!

I am certainly never giving up on Bill, no matter what the writers come up with. He is by far the most interesting character on TB, and the books still suck, so I will wait and see what happens in Season 6/ If you think the haters are pleased, well they probably were when Bill dissolved into goo, but when Billith rose, I am sure there was quite a bit of consternation on their part, and who gives a rat’s ass what other people, especially that brain-challenged crowd, think? They are a minority, vocal yes, but AB was not pandering to them, that’s not his style. This show is all about Bill’s journey, and if he has to turn into someone who is like Darth Vader first, bring it on! Great acting by Steve this season! I want him to be recognized for that.

I’m in shock… I never thought that would happen… I hate the writers! They’ve destroyed him! I loved old Bill!
And I love Stephen Moyer, but don’t know if I’ll be able to watch the next season… I’m still very sad
My Bill… My poor Bill…

Perhaps Bill is going to be season 6 villain. And we all know what happens to them…
but seriously, how will they redeem him now?
Comment by Joanna "Teahead" — August 27, 2012 @ 7:53 am
Or could this new version of Bill be the “thing” that is going to take down Warlow?
Comment by purpleprince — August 27, 2012 @ 10:48 am
I happen to be a lover of the “books” myself, that’s why I started watching TB in the first place. Then I fell in love with Bill and Sookie in season one and have continued to watch faithfully, and because I love Steve Moyer. But come on, the only way Bill can be saved is to be drained of Lilith blood and have Jessica give him a transplant of their blood again. But it doesn’t surprise me that HBO had to go into complete “outrageous, shock mode” thinking this is the only way to keep viewers. It’s not, by the way, the love story between Bill and Sookie is a much better way.

I agree with CrzayforBill, AB was not pandering to the EL’s, he is doing his own thing with the character of Bill. It was shocking, and it made me smile when I saw Bill rise from the goo, I just knew that the haters were reveling in his death, and now he is reborn, and could very well be a God, they must be furious because once again Bill will be the main focus of S6.
And the interviews I’ve seen with SM never indicated that SM seemed unhappy with the s/l, in fact I think he enjoyed playing Bill’s descent into madness.
And SM’s acting this whole season was the best of the bunch.
I’m in it for the long haul, if it’s Billith in S6, I’m right there with him.

Yes AM. ITA with everything you posted. I too am with Bill/Stephen for the long haul (although I would like to punch AB’s lights out!)I fell in love and fandom with Bill/Stephen and I am not going anywhere…..

Guys, I’ve yet to read your comments on the forum. Honestly, if anyone can overcome the inherent primal evil of being a vampire then it is Bill. I think Sookie’s speech hinted at that. I’m glad he’s not gone in a gooey suicide. He will overcome this. I hope.

I felt at the end of this season only. Sadness. Incredible sadness. When Bill drank the blood of Lilith and exploded, I started crying. I cried further, although he stepped out of a pool of blood as the new Lilith. They killed the old Bill with human soul and so much love for Sookie. This Bill, which I fell in love in 01×01. Bill, who brought me to the love of TB. I can not believe it! I will not believe it until I see the season 6. I’ll wait for next season. But only for great performances of Stephen and my undying hope for Bill’s return to normal.
