Moyer Officially Out of The Big Valley

Stephen Moyer’s reps confirm that delays in production of The Big Valley have created a scheduling conflict. Steve will not be able to work on the film because of his commitment to True Blood.

We’re sorry to hear this news. We were looking forward to watching Steve in a Western with a cowboy hat and boots.

    1. I am so bummed! I loved that show as a kid and really wanted to see Steve play Jarrod. DAMN.

    2. I feel so sorry for him :( now I will maybe not see the film, if it is ever to be filmed…

    3. That’s my feeling, too, brunopia. He was gonna make that film.

    4. This is truly a shame. I’m sure Steve would have been wonderful as Jarrod Barkley. The thrill of seeing that movie is now completely gone, and I have also heard that that tidbit of Steve filming a cameo for Game of Thrones was only a rumour, which is untrue. Is it June 12th yet???

    5. Dang! I had been all fired up to go see the movie! Sadly, there’ll be no reason to go see it now! At the same time, at least we know that means filming for True Blood Seaason Four will have resumed!

Just think… Season Three will be coming out on DVD and soon the show will be back on the air! I’ve already added HBO to my cable line-up! :)

    6. Damn! There goes my Rhett Butler imagery. Oh well … WE CRAVE MORE SM! *shakes fist at movie industry*

This just means something else is coming down the pipe. I’m pushing for a 9 1/2 Weeks, remake because I think SM would be incredible in a roll like that. Although, I think it could go deeper and the character can delve into a little more darkness.

    7. I am happy! I could not see Stephen in that role because that film is not going to go anywhere – he deserves better than that – and I agree something like 9 1/2 weeks – a romantic sexy romp – Stephen would be oh so perfect in that role – just see him in The Starter Wife when he says to Debra Messing – and if it means anything to you at all I would love to make love to you! The Big Valley is a waste of his looks and talent.

    8. I respectfully disagree, dolores cocuzzo, and take issue with your glee at Steve losing a job. For all we know, he was looking forward to making this movie which will likely find a very wide baby-boomer audience. To express delight over this is inappropriate, at the least.

    9. I am truly disappointed. STepehn would have been wonderful in this role. I am hoping that besides True Blood, we see so much more of this handsome talented man.
He would bring his charm and charisma to any role.
You are supported in all you do Stephen!

    11. I must agree, I think SM would have made a great Jarred Barkley. He has the same cool presence that Richard Long had.

I sure hope he does find another juicy role, he is very talented. As for a 9 1/2 weeks remake? Ooo… interesting thought!

It sure would be nice to see him in any role that could showcase his verstility and overall sex appeal! :)

    12. This is sad news. I heard from ‘other’ sources, that the sets were crumbling and maybe this movie will not be made at all. The only hope is that the movie will be put back further and possibly next year will be made with our boy in the role of Jarod.

    13. I am truly sorry someone took offense to my remark about The Big Valley – but I would like to see Stephen in a film which would be widely accepted – audience wise. Yes he would have been terrific in the movie – he can act in any genre – however, I see better films ahead for Stephen.

    14. I wish Stephen Moyer the best in whatever film he lands – but I truly believe Stephen would attract a larger audience in a different type of movie. Many remakes do not succeed.

    20. Agree with all. I love westerns but now feela little cheated by this one.

    21. I doubt that I’ll bother going to see Big Valley without Steve in it. I’m sure that it must have been frustrating to him, although it’s part of the acting profession. Hope he gets some kind of financial compensation…especially if he had to turn down other projects.

    22. At this point in time, I would just love to be sitting in a dark theater, watching a giant projection of our favorite handsome and talented actor!

So, I’m hoping that at least one of his upcoming movies hits the multiplexes soon!

I’ve watched my S1 & S2 DVDs so much I can practically recite the dialogue of every episode! Not that that’s a bad thing! LOL! :)
