Happy Anniversary, True Blood!

It was four years ago today when True Blood made it’s US premiere on HBO. We don’t know about y’all, but once Bill Compton stepped foot inside Merlotte’s, our lives have not been quite the same! Whether you love or hate what’s going on with Bill, one thing is for certain: we can’t imagine anyone other than Stephen Moyer in the role!

    1. Since I was a fan of the books first, the casting of Anna Paquin and Stepehn Moyer for the characters of Bill & Sookie didn’t seem to fit. The book Bill is darl haired, dark eyed with a Roman nose…Sookie is a blue eyed blond. I had seen both Stephen and Anna before and couldn’t quite picture the blonde, tan Stephen of Starter Wife or the Dark haired Anna as those characters. Now I can’t picture those characters in any other ways.

    5. and when will the creative crew of TB get us back to those wonderful times when TB was about the wonderful love affair between Bill and Sookie?

Don’t make us wait until the very last episode of the series, start getting those two back together in S6, and stop with trying to have Sookie have sex with all the male supes on the show, it’s degrading to her character, IMO.

    7. I loved watching their love grow over time:). I tried rewatching the seasons but I can’t seem to stop thinking what was revealed end of season 3! I’d love to see more of Sookie and Sam though, since that’s how it goes in the book. But! Surprises are good:), so whoever she ends up with is fine with me:)

    8. This photo just makes me want to re-watch Season One in all its glory. So that’s what I will do. I can’t imagine anyone else in these roles, hair colour notwithstanding. It wasn’t until after I saw the first season that I read the books and met with crushing disappointment. Maybe Sookie will not end up with Sam in the books after all, let’s wait and see.

    9. I for one hope you are able to wish TB Happy Anniversary for many more years to come. For any of the things I might complain about, cough*too many storylines*cough – I will miss it like heck when it is gone. Not to mention I will be unsure how I will get my Stephen Moyer fix :)

    11. There is only ONE Bill Compton and his name is Stephen Moyer… period, the end (I hope that makes sense. It did to me anyway!)

    12. It’s been four years, Highbrew.

The reason TB became the success that it is today is because of the incredible chemistry between Bill and Sookie. That’s what drew me in initially, and countless others. Hopefully we’ll get the old Bill back in S6!

    13. I do hope we get our romantic hero Bill back next season. His relationships with Sookie, Jessica, and the Bon Temps citizens is what really drew me and many others into TB. Not to mention Stephen’s sexy goodness…

    15. 4 years that changed my life in so many ways.
The best being I became aware of this lovely man, Stephen Moyer as the incomparable Bill Compton.

Bill and Sookie are the heart of this show no matter what is thrown at us.

      Happy Anniversary TB.
