There’s less than a week to go to enter for your chance to win these fantastic items!
Here’s your chance to win an autographed picture of Stephen Moyer while also helping his best mate’s cause, Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity. And, to make it even more appealing, we’re adding Bill Compton tee shirts to the mix. These items are no longer available in the HBO shop and with the final season of True Blood approaching, Bill Compton merchandise may be harder than ever to find.
Here are the details of what we’re giving away:
A season three Bill Compton T-shirt from the HBO shop, size is woman’s XL and a signed photo of Stephen Moyer from the True Blood/Playboy event at Comic Con, July 14, 2012 (photo was signed after NYFA Q&A on November 17th).
A season two Bill Compton T-shirt from the HBO shop, size is woman’s XL and a signed photo of Stephen Moyer from the True Blood/Playboy event at Comic Con, July 14, 2012 (photo was signed after NYFA Q&A on November 17).
When it comes to raising money for charity, there doesn’t seem to be a challenge too big for Robert “Bertie” Portal. By now, long term visitors of this site are well aware of Bertie Portal and James Cash’s heroic row across the Atlantic Ocean for charity. If you need a refresher, please visit our Simply Portal section.
Beginning April 4, 2014, Bertie will be competing in “the toughest footrace on Earth”, the Marathon Des Sables (MdS). The MdS is a 6 day endurance race of between 150 and 156 miles across the Sahara Desert in Morocco in temperatures reaching and exceeding 100 degrees Fahrenheit (50 degrees centigrade). And once again, Bertie’s doing it all for charity. For this challenge, Bertie is raising money for Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity.
From Bertie’s Virgin Money Giving Fundraising Page:
Rainbow Trust is an extraordinary charity working for terminally ill children and their families. I have seen at first hand the courage and selflessness not only of the children themselves but of the wonderful people at Rainbow Trust who will stop at nothing to give families the help, support and love they need whenever and however they need it. No one should have to outlive their child. It is quite simply unthinkable. As one parent so memorably put it “Rainbow Trust is like the best friend you wish you never had”. I am so proud to be involved with this charity and my mission is to raise as much as is humanly possible between now and the finish line next April. But first I need to get out and do a quick 31 miles of training!
For every £5 donated to Bertie’s cause, you will receive one entry into a drawing for a chance to win one of two autographed photos of Stephen Moyer. In other words, £20 = 4 entries/chances to win. Here’s what you’ve gotta do:
Make a donation to Bertie’s cause by Sunday, January 19th by following this link: Blazing a Trail Fundraiser
Once a donation has been made, you will be sent an email confirmation by the Virgin Money Giving team that looks like this:
You will then forward that email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Entries must be submitted by 11:59 PM EST on January 19th. Please note that your email confirmation from Virgin Money Giving provides no personal identifying information. Winners will be notified via the email that their entries were submitted by.
While you’re at it, if you haven’t already “liked” Bertie’s Facebook page, Bertie Portal: Blazing a Trail please do so now. As is mentioned in the Facebook message, “you have no idea how much your support and encouragement helped when you followed him and James as they rowed across the Atlantic.” Bertie’s got over 100 more days of intense training to prepare for this race. That’s over 100 days that you can cheer him on as he readies himself for another unbelievable journey across the Sahara. We’re rooting for ‘ya, Bertie!
