Bill Compton Attended The Barrens Screening

Well, we finally got the opportunity to catch The Barrens on the big screen last night!  And Bill Compton even decided to head up to Cherry Hill, NJ to catch the screening with us!  It’s good to see Bill out & about again, eh?  He gave the film a big thumb’s up, and was quite proud of his alter ego, Stephen Moyer’s performance.

Bill hurrying into the theater!

We’ve got to agree with Bill. Darren Lynn Bousman stated, ” … [Steve] makes this movie his bitch!” And did he ever! It was a thrill to finally see Steve larger than life in the lead role and owning this film from beginning to end. To quote iamtrue2bill, a member of the BWW, “He makes us feel sorry for him, wonder about him, and be afraid of him, all at the same time.”

We’d like to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to the great fans of Stephen Moyer who made the screening of this film possible.  There were several of you from out of the area who purchased tickets, knowing that you wouldn’t be able to attend, but wanted to help us reach our goal of getting this film seen on the big screen.

The management at the Cherry Hill AMC Loews were fantastic!  They allowed us to promote the film with fliers, posters, set up a nice check in area for us, and even gave us free popcorn.  Thanks to Tugg for assisting us with finding the movie theater and promoting the film on their site.  And last but not least, thanks to Anchor Entertainment for providing us with the DVDs to give away for our promotion.

It seemed to be the general consensus of everyone who attended that this was a film definitely worthy of being seen on the big screen.  And everyone agreed that Stephen Moyer was exceptional in his portrayal of Richard Vinyard’s decent into madness.  This was clearly his film, and as always, he proved himself to be worthy of the challenge.

Waiting for The Barrens to begin.

    1. Hey, just thought you would want to take another look at the credits. Francois was the prosthetics coordinator. A guy by the name of Jason Detheridge played the Jersey Devil.

    2. Im glad for Bill that y’all had a night time showing. He probably appreciated it.
Havent seen him out and about in that fav Henley in way too long. Though I wonder if he was jealous of his alter ego wearing some nice fur bearing Henleys of his own in “The Barrens”.

Not surprised everyone enjoyed the movie, wish I was there.
It was awesome and intense, and a brilliant performance put forth from Stephen and the supporting cast (Francois included). But Id expected no less.

Congrats to all for a successful night!!!

    3. Congratulations on your successful showing, my friend. I’m glad you brought Bill out of his, um, box to see the show. I still have fond memories of him hangin’out with us in New Orleans …

    4. I’m with ya’ on the whole Frank or Vinnie thing… it’d be like having a Gila monster playing the Loch Ness monster! LOL!

I’m really glad you guys had a great time and here’s hoping his next feature film plays where it is supposed to play… on the BIG screen! (Hey, PTB! Are you listening?!) :P

It must have been amazing for you guys to see a movie with Stephen as the lead and larger than life… I envy you all!

It was nice to see Bill out and about… he has such good taste when it comes to going to the cinema! :)

    7. That movie rocked, and Stephen was so damn great in the lead, as Richard Vineyard! I loved that he kept his British accent, and that he was in tight tanks and Henleys through most of the film. Even as this poor guy was going mad, he was hot – not Stephen’s fault, he just can’t help it.
Stephen was awesome. From the first frame to the last, he just made this character his, as he carried the ominous overtones of the story so flawlessly.

I’m so glad I got to – finally – see Stephen on the big screen. He’s always impressive, but in the movie theater he’s even more incredible.

    8. What made this movie experience even better for me was getting the chance to meet Aemac, SenseofDoubt, and sassylassie (or lexie?), as well as some other very nice ladies, one of whom came from Michigan!

It was an absolute joy to meet and chat with everyone of you terrific women, especially after so much time here and on BWW, conversing and sharing our love for Bill//Stephen.

I’m looking forward to another event that we can celebrate together. Thanks for the great evening, and for getting me back on the turnpike!

    9. So glad you all had a great time… and that Bill got to go too! :P

It is a pretty great movie, isn’t it? And that handsome leading man… how could it not be great with Stephen in it!

    10. Glad to hear you all had a great time.

Who held Bill’s hand for the scary parts or did you guys pass him around?

    11. I’m so thrilled you came, iamtrue, and we finally got to meet! Can’t wait for the next adventure!

Purpleprince- I think aemac had Bill during the movie. She doesn’t like to share him. :-)

    12. Hey, if you could get your hands on Bill, would you share??? I don’t think any of us are that generous ;)

    13. Bill was left with others briefly, but I wasn’t convinced they gave him the attention he deserved. Besides, Bill is MINE!

You all better be at the next movie of Steve’s that gets shown on the big screen, seriously … y’all better be.

To iamtruebill, it was honour, it truly was.
