A Little Spoiler for Bill Compton

It’s just a wee bit of a spoiler about Bill that comes from E! by way of Alexander Skarsgard. I’ll bet my bottom, this will illicit different reactions among the True Blood fandom.

Maya: True Blood scoop? Particularly of the Eric variety?

“We just started True Blood season six two weeks ago,” Alexander Skarsgård reveals to us. So where are the naked on-set photos? We kid. Sort of. Skarsgård also spilled that the Bill-Eric dynamic will be more explosive than ever in the new season. “Bill is kind of dangerous now, even for an old, strong vampire like Eric,” he tells us. “So he’s got to be real careful.” As long as he’s shirtless while he’s careful, we’re onboard.

    1. I’m sure the rabid Eric fan base will likely be sneering at the prospect that Eric might have anything to worry about from Bill. But I think I am more like most of the fans in that I actually really like both characters because they are so different. They both bring so much to the story that neither would be very interesting without the other.

What really makes me chuckle is that Steve and Alex are such good friends that I know that they must roll their eyes at all of the hubbub over the Bill/Eric “rivalry.”

    2. And the crazy EL’s take to the Internet to bash Bill and the TB writing staff…..

Seriously I am curious how Eric fits into the new season, even if I am a Bill lover. We haven’t heard anything about him except this little tidbit right?

    3. Glad to hear that it sounds like Bill won’t just be pushed around anymore… He’s been under the heel of other, older vampires for the whole series- even as king he was stuck falling in line under the Authority…

It will be nice for once if Bill doesn’t have to worry or follow anybody else’s orders :)

      Thanks for sharing!!

Tabby, I totally agree that I like both characters, even if I like Bill the best… and the Eric/Bill dynamic is still important to the show.

    4. I love those words: “Bill is kind of dangerous now, even for an old, strong vampire like Eric,” he tells us. “So he’s got to be real careful.” HA. Yes, be very careful Eric, or Bill might get mad! I too want to see Bill come into his own and have “choices” for once without having to be careful. It is NOT Bill’s turn to be subordinate, it is Eric’s turn to understand who is the boss. I think it is also Eric’s turn to pay for all the times he tricked Sookie and hurt her and Bill for his own selfish reasons. I LOVE Bill being DANGEROUS. <3 dangerous Bill!

    5. This is great news! For me Bill would be fascinating without Eric Northman around. Being less than 200 years old as a vampire and having this incredible journey is interesting enough! Bill is special in so many ways. Thanks for this tidbit. So looking forward to dark sexy brilliant beautiful Vampire Bill!;-)

    6. It seems the writers love to switch it up, and the actors have commented on that many times. They play different people off each other in different ways. Bill and Eric were adversaries with Eric holding the power, then cohorts, that they would switch it up a bit is in line with that.

As much as I fear for Bill’s character, it might be kind of a good change to not have him be the young vampire who has to submit to the power of everyone else for a change. I rather liked King Bill.

    7. Eric being afraid of Bill, I love it!!

Once again, Bill will be at the center of True Blood, he seems to have taken over the central role in the show, and Stephen will be doing his wonderfully awesome job as Bill, just as he has done for the past 5 season.

    8. SnA – me too! I loved King Bill. Not only did he have power, albeit curtailed by Nan Flanagan, but he was decisive, reasonable, and smart in his decisions as monarch. And he had great clothes…yum!

I’m getting more interested in seeing S6 now that we’re reading spoilers like this one. If Bill is going to be a sanguinista, then I sure want to see him be a powerful, strong, and dangerous one.

I’ll be interested in seeing the Bill/Eric dynamic also. Their adversarial relationship is one of the best parts of TB!

    9. Bill and Eric together have some of the best chemistry on the show. Whether they are snipping at each other, trying to do each other in or spooning in the boot of a car……. :-)

I agree with the consensus here, I am really happy that Bills new found strength/power will level the playing field between the two, if not increase it in Bills favor.

I have high hopes for a great season.

      Go Bill!
