Video: Stephen Moyer Impressed by Stars at Vanity Fair Party

E! grabbed a very quick interview with Steve and Anna after the Oscars last night on their way into the Vanity Fair party.

Steve said “There’s some pretty cool faces in there.” He mentions being impressed by Kirk Douglas at last year’s Vanity Fair party. You can see it at about the 1:04 mark. Enjoy!

Ever the Gentleman – Stephen Moyer, Anna Paquin Waiting for a Limo

Isn’t nice to know that Steve and Anna wait for a ride the same as we do? OK, so we’re not wearing designer clothes after attending a fancy Oscar party, but you get my drift, right?

It’s also nice to see a gentlemanly act in a world where such little attentions are often forgotten in the rush to get somewhere. Sigh with me now, ladies (and gents) …

Facing the Atlantic – Help Us Support Stephen Moyer’s Charity

We’re pleased to announce that we’re joining The Vault and All Stephen Moyer in a charity fund raising drive to support Facing the Atlantic!

Facing the Atlantic is “race in a two man rowing boat across the Atlantic from La Gomera in the Canary Islands to English Harbour in Antigua, the West Indies, to raise £300,000 (about $480,000 U.S.) for the charity Facing the World. This figure includes funding for Facing the Atlantic.’

facing the atlantic route

An unsupported and totally self sufficient race of 2,500 nautical miles departs from La Gomera in December. Entrants must deal not only with 50ft waves, oil tankers and sharks but tackle the very limits of their physical and mental fitness.”

Facing the World co-founder, Martin Kelly, was dedicated to helping children with severe facial disfigurements who cannot be treated in their home countries. He died suddenly two years ago, leaving behind his wife, actress Natascha McElhone (“Californication”) and their children. Steve and McElhone met and became friends while attending the London Academy for Music and the Dramatic Arts. Please watch the video Kelly narrated about the work of Facing the World:

The two men rowing that boat across the Atlantic are Bert Portal and James Cash. Portal is a close friend of Steve’s – best man at his wedding to Anna Paquin – an actor for 20 years most recently seen in “The King’s English,” and a close friend of Martin Kelly, co-founder of Facing the World. He undertakes this challenge to fulfill a promise made to Kelly. “This charity is close to my heart and 60 days of heightened physical and indeed mental danger is nothing compared to what these children go through.”

James Cash is a personal trainer with more than 10 years’ experience in marathons, triathlons, and long distance cycling. Facing the Atlantic is the biggest challenge he’s undertaken. Cash cites his reasons for participating: “It is a charity so worthy of support, the courage of these children puts us to shame.”

The race begins this December and we’ll tell you about many exciting opportunities for you to help raise money for this cause so near to Steve’s heart. There’ll be chances for you to get your hands on some great stuff in support of Facing the Atlantic. Stay tuned to Simply Moyer and our partners, The Vault and All Stephen Moyer, and Facing the Atlantic on Facebook to learn more.

You can also make a donation directly to Facing The Atlantic. When you do please add the code TB4FTA (True Blood for Facing The Atlantic) to the note area of your donation so we can track donations from all True Blood and Stephen Moyer fans!

It’s no secret to any of his fans that he’s the best actor in television. Great news in a sparse season for True Blood awards nominations …. hallelujahs! hallelujahs!

The Saturn Awards are given by the Academy of Science Fiction Fantasy & Horror Films for the past three decades. They’re an “acknowledgment of fine work. Some of it is groundbreaking, some of it is vastly entertaining, but the bottom line should be the recognition is well earned.”

Bryan Cranston
(Breaking Bad) (AMC)
Matthew Fox (Lost) (ABC)
Michael C. Hall (Dexter) (Showtime)
Timothy Hutton (Leverage) (TNT)
Andrew Lincoln (The Walking Dead) (AMC)

But that’s not where the nominations for True Blood end! Time’s almost up for a chance to bid on an original season 3 script from episode 12, “Evil Is Going On.” Chances like this don’t come along often and you don’t want to miss out on having this piece of True Blood history encased in your house. It’s signed by Stephen Moyer, Anna Paquin and Alan Ball and all proceeds will benefit the Darnell family. Visit ebay to satisfy your True Blood needs.

And if helping out a family of children isn’t enough of a reason to bid, and if owning True Blood memorabilia isn’t enough of a reason to bid, think of Steve holding this script. Walking around with this script. Steve even marked it with an “x” … a kiss just for the winning bidder. Have I begged enough yet?
